Planning a Wedding Shower

I'm in the middle of helping to plan a Wedding Shower for the wedding in October wherein I will be the Maid of Honor... I'm so excited for the wedding, and at the same time I want it to be the best it can be... :)

Sashimi week!

Another week has gone by since I've blogged! Let's see if I can remember what I've been up too...

Last weekend was Labour Day Weekend. On Saturday I spent almost 6 hours shopping with my Mom at the Southgate Mall. On Sunday night I went to a little bbq party with some fun friends.

The rest of the week I can't exactly remember when I did stuff... All I know is that I had a great time catching up with a good friend of mine. And in the process I've eaten at a Japanese restaurant twice within 4 days (even the people there remembered us!) and that's probably the most sashimi I have ever eaten. Plus I had a wonderful time having you teach me how to drive. I really enjoyed. Thank you so much.. I've missed you! :)

My Blueberry Jam

I'm on blogging mode today! Haha or maybe I'm just trying to make up for the days I didn't. But anyways, I did something totally random today. I made blueberry jam! Yes and it was the first time I ever made jam. Blueberry's a common fruit here at our house since my parents are now obsessed with eating healthy. And we basically eating it like popcorn, especially those nice big, sweet ones.
Here's and interesting fact from goggle: Canadian exports of blueberries in 2007 were $323 million, the largest fruit crop produced nationally, occupying more than half of all Canadian fruit acreages.

So I thought for a change why not try something different. As a kid I wasn't a fan of any kind of jam. I didn't even like those jam filled donuts. But it's a whole new story. Now I'm starting to eat jam more often with bread, and I like to add some peanut butter in my jam sandwich. But anyways back to the blueberry jam making! Here's how I did it:
I sorted the blueberries and removed any stems or leaves. Then I washed them.
I used a potato masher to crush all the blueberries.

Then I added the sugar (about the same amount of as the berries). And then I added a few drops of lemon. Ater that I put everything to boil.
I had to wait a LONG time for it to boil, stiring here and there. But when it reached this look, I decided it was probably done. Haha, I had no clue since I wasn't following a recipe!
Here is my finished product! I'm very proud of it even though I haven't tasted it until now. It's in the fridge cooling. I did notice though that it seems to be a little bit "runny", probably because I didn't put in PECTIN, which is a powder substance put in jams so they have that "solid" outcome. Nevertheless it still looks like jam. Plus it's homemade, better than the store bought ones where there's chemicals put in it. I am looking so looking forward to eating it with my toast tomorrow morning.  :)

Ferrero Rocher

Doesn't "Ferrero Rocher" sound like a car's name or something? But no it's actually a chocolate brand, in fact it's my favorite one!

I just found out that the makers of Ferrero Rocher also made Tic Tac and Nutella (the chocolate spread which I also love!). The sweets consist of a whole roasted hazelnut encased in a thin wafer shell filled with hazelnut cream and covered in milk chocolate and chopped hazelnuts and walnuts. It's individually wrapped in a beautiful gold wrapper, and placed in nice boxes. They are very famous here for gift giving during the holiday seasons. Some even use it for their weddings, here are some examples:

The reason why I'm blogging about this right now is that I'm craving chocolate, particularly this one. I usually have this weird chocolate craving whenever I pms. And I don't know if it's related but it's raining outside so maybe that makes my crave stronger? I can't help it if I got a sweet tooth! Haha.

I'm reminiscing to that time (I think one month ago?) when I received 2 boxes of Ferrero Rocher (32 in total!) from a good friend of mine (thank you!!). Lucky me! Being the good sister that I am, I gave my sister 4 pieces... then continued on to eat the rest of the 2 boxes in only 24 hours time! I probably beat a World Record or something. As you can probably imagine I was VERY sugar high after eating them. I calculated it and I ate more than 6000 calories with just the chocolates. Haha! Here are pictures from that glorious moment:

I don't know when or if I'll ever get to eat that much Ferrero Rochers in one sitting. Especially because they are so expensive- one of the most expensive chocolates around. But yes I really enjoyed that maybe-once-in-a-lifetime experience. Now you know what one of the things that make my heart melt and my taste buds satisfied. It's very divine. And my craving continues! Until we meet again Ferrero Rocher! I love you! ;D

Camping @ Miquelon Lake '09

Our family, Jeff, and the Espinosa family (good friends of ours) got back from camping at Miquelon Lake on Sunday night. We spent a fun weekend there, and you can see we really enjoy camping because we just went camping 2 weeks ago at Elk Island National Park. :D

It was awesome. The weather was super hot- perfect beach weather. There are a lot of pictures we took, but here are a few :)

Mom & Dad copying the pose of the statues... this is the only place we took a picture in the city of Camrose, Alberta.

Our lovely tent where we slept at night.

Watching the sunset at the Beach.

Hehe.. the broken bench was a perfect spot for a picture! And no, I did not break it. :D

FOOD! There was so much food during our trip dinner, breakfast, lunch, and merienda- more than this picture shows. And it was so good because everything was roasted or "BBQ-ed" haha. One of the things I love most about the Espinosas is that they enjoy good food , and so do I. Haha. :)

Our new beloved air mattress! We just bought this the day before leaving so we've never used it before. And what a difference it made. Compared to our last camping trip, this time I didn't want to wake up earlier, I still wanted to sleep because it was so nice sleeping on it! XD

Camping wouldnt be complete without an open fire. We roasted corn, cheese hotdogs, marshmallows, and made smores. The pictures here were taken from night and the morning after. We stayed up roasting hotdogs and watching the stars, all the while listening to music. Thanks DJ Jerico... haha ;)

Like our other camping trip, we picked saskatoon berries again! They were just growing along the trails. :)

Jerico caught these cute dragonflies, and gave me one to hold. But of course we let them go after this picture was taken. We probably gave them a heart attack, but they survived and flew away :)

I took this picture when everyone else was talking their naps beside the beach.. haha.. it's the only picture taken from the other camera!

I saved the best for last, especially because it was taken by yours truly... that's why I'm not in the picture.. hehe.. ;)

I love camping. And I love the company of awesome people while camping. There are more photos but just check my facebook for the rest. The roasted marshmallow, tents, bonfire under the stars, and picnics... I miss it all already! I can't wait for next summer! Until then... ;)

There is no revenge so complete as forgiveness.

Good morning world! This is the first website I've opened today because I'm making sure I'll actually blog haha... I was thinking lastnight that I miss blogging about random things and even writing in my diary/journal. I know it's such a hassle when you're staring at a blank page at first, but it's very rewarding to look back at it and remembering what you've been up to before. So that's the plan, I will TRY to update whenever possible. :D

I've been upset since a few days ago about other people gossiping and talking behind my back, and not just with me but to some other friends. I hate anyone who would do something harmful to my family & friends, either physically or emotionally. And there are times I'm thinking I need to revenge them. But I've given it much thought and have decided, who cares?! Haha. Why should I give up my Facebook and other things just because I'm annoyed at you?! That's not right lol. Really why waste my time on others who have nothing better to do with their own lame lives. As I've been told "inggit lang sila". Most of what they say anyways is 'bullsh*t', and they're the one looking 'tangga'. Well I wish I can help you with that but sometimes people are just so hopeless. And I do believe in karma, so you'd better be careful of what you do because it might backfire to you in the end.

But even if I'm very dissapointed with some for what they've done to my family & friends, I still pray for them. I ask God to help them sort out their issues and self-problems, and that they hopefully "move on" to do better things with their lives. Because the world doesn't need anymore hatred than what it already has.

September already?

I can't believe it's been almost a month since I've last logged on here, just shows how busy August has been.

There are many things on my mind right now, so much that I feel like my heads going to explode sooner or later. Hay get a life! So many annoying people so have nothing better to do than to ``chismis``. Well I`ve got stuff to do right now so I`ll blog about it tonight.
